Places is a set of imaginary ambient jazz moods, grooves and melodies. All the tracks and improvisations were actually played, then deeply reworked after long researches on sound design and soundscapes on the computer.

There’s few guitar on this record, many more improvisations are performed on the synths than before ; the koto – guitar is present in jazzcomputer.org’s music since the beginning, but some tracks are completely dedicated to this instrument – far East climates submerge the listener as much as the resonant presences from the beyond and elsewhere…

Music of imaginary Places, but also Pictures of them, as the look of the photographer rebuilds and transforms ancient factories, forgiven tunnels and facilities, forsaken woods and unlikely geometries – enhancing a sense of decay which might capture part of the real essence of time and space. Tony Pullen’s work enhances the beauty and entropy of these imaginary Places as you can see on this portfolio (4,1 Mo), full part of this jazzcomputer.org’s seventh album.

Large soundscapes, guitar improvisations, Koto, lush evolving pads, soothing atmospheres, Udu, Water Drums, Tablas, numerous synthesizers, jazz harmonies, ambient grooves : there are so many different things to choose from in five years of musical evolution and six albums…
This compilation proposes the best moments of jazzcomputer.org’s music released so far. Some tracks are complete, some others are extracts, with or without guitars, with or without percussions, but always with moods, soundscapes and atmospheres building imaginary journeys.

Most of the tracks have been remastered for a deeper and more homogeneous sound. You may download the whole set or stream the various tracks, for free (CC by-NC license).
Just click and enjoy the music !

I’m glad to announce the release of my new album : Ambient Jazz
Ambient Jazz gathers two radically different sources : electronic ambient music, with his minimalist approach, stanges noises and climates, intensive usage of long synth pads and textures, and then on the other hand the jazz, with lush harmonies, singing melodies and improvisations. Sometimes things reach a stable balance in this album, but more often the two musical forms melts into each other and raise as predominant style for a while, before a break or an unpredictable instrument starts turning things upside down.
